Turnbull began his broadcasting career in 1978, reporting from more than 30 countries. In 2015, he made an embarrassing mistake live on air.
Bill Turnbull’s passion for beekeeping led to the publication of his book, The Bad Beekeepers Club, and he hosted a weekend radio show on Classic FM.

Turnbull began his broadcasting career at Scottish station Radio Clyde, worked for the BBC until 1990, then became a correspondent for BBC News and co-hosted BBC Breakfast with Susanna Reid until 2014.
Bill Turnbull, 66, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017 and said he was “angry with myself” for not seeing a GP for four years. Prostate cancer is a disease in which cells in the prostate begin to divide and grow uncontrollably, sometimes spreading throughout the body.
