Alla Pugacheva, one of Russia’s most famous pop stars, has applied to be classified as a foreign agent in solidarity with her exiled husband, Maxim Galkin. He was declared a foreign agent less than a week ago.

In an online posting, she stated that Putin’s war in Ukraine “kills soldiers for illusory goals” and makes Russia a “global pariah.” Given Moscow’s recent military setbacks in the war against Ukraine, is there a shift in Russian public opinion?
