The Russian-Ukrainian War – Day 191 – 02 September 2022
On 24 February 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine with land, naval and air forces, igniting the largest European war since the Great Patriotic War. The Russian government had deliberately sought to deceive the world by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.
Despite the war in Ukraine, Russia started its annual Joint Strategic Exercise Vostok 22 on 1 September. It is unlikely that more than 15,000 personnel will take part.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian enemy is trying to establish complete control over the territory of the Donetsk oblast and to hold the captured areas of the Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaivoblasts. Russian forces continue to carry out air and missile attacks on military and civilian objects on the territory of Ukraine.
