Her party is the Social Democratic Party of Finland, and she is a Member of Parliament since 2015. She has served as Finnish prime minister since 2019.
Between 2006 and 2012, Marin was the first vice president of the Social Democratic Youth. After running unsuccessfully for Tampere’s City Council in 2008, she ran again in 2012 and won. In 2013 she became the City Council’s chairman, serving until 2017.
