The Notting Hill Carnival is a huge, free street festival celebrating the Caribbean community. It’s Europe’s largest street festival and the second largest carnival in the world (Rio comes in first) – with groovy beats, tons of street food (jerk chicken is an absolute favorite), dazzling costumes, and absolutely fabulous parades.
For the first time since 2019, Carnival is back on a weekend in August to bring people back together and showcase the best of our vibrant local culture. London’s diverse heritage is one of its greatest strengths, and each year this festival brings together people from all backgrounds for a colorful celebration of local culture.
Supporting and celebrating our community is a year-round commitment and a cornerstone of our work as councillors. Kensington, Chelsea, and Westminster Councils are working with event organizers and partners to support our residents and provide services and facilities to minimize disruption.
