Ukraine Braces to Launch Counter-Attack Against Russia in East to Take Back Donbas

As part of a counter-offensive in the south, government forces are trying to seize the initiative from Russian forces before winter hits. The Russian-Ukrainian War – Day 191 – 02 September 2022

Russian forces are trying to advance in the direction of Zaitseve and Mayorsk, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces are pushing them back to previously occupied positions.

A Russian company took looted property from the Lost World sports club to the temporarily occupied territory of the Republic of Crimea.

Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian troops are suffering heavy losses in the Nikolaev-Kryvyi Rih direction, and that two militants were taken prisoner. In addition, two Su-25 attack aircraft and one MiG-29 fighter were shot down by Russian Aerospace Forces.

Aviation, rocket troops and artillery hit 8 command posts, 42 artillery units, manpower and military equipment in 134 districts, and 6 depots of rocket and artillery weapons were destroyed.

Sergei Shoigu said that the influx of foreign mercenaries to Ukraine has decreased by more than 3.5 times since February 24, and that 2,831 militants have been killed.

The people’s militia of the DPR reported that Ukrainian troops had fired more than 200 rounds at 7 settlements, killing 1 person and injuring 6.

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that the allied forces must liberate all the cities that were founded by Russian people, and that the pace of issuing Russian passports to citizens of the DPR is growing.

Vitaly Kiselev, an assistant to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR, was shot with a pistol at the end of May.

Over 121,000 residents of the liberated regions have applied for a pension in the LPR.
